What Can Be The Reason For Sore Throat?

Hello doctor. Lately I've been having a sore throat I woke up this morning and the pain is tolerable but I noticed my tonsils are swollen with many white spots on them. I recently had oral sex and I 'm just wondering if this is caused by an std or if it could be something else. I'm really scared.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your query sore throat with white spots over the tonsils are commonly due to bacterial throat infection along with Tonsillitis and the white spots are pus pockets caused secondary to infection..
It is not STD and need not to worry about it..
You can take antibiotics like Levofloxacin or Azithromycin for 5 days..
Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Advil or Aleve..
Chew vitamin C pellet daily.
Do warm saline gargles and steam inhalations as it soothe the throat.
Use a vapourizer in your room..
Sip on luke warm water throughout the day..
