What Can Be The Reason For The Burning Sensation In The Palm?

My wife, aged 59 years, is having pricking / burning sensation in her right palm, for the past one week. She also has slight pain in the right upper arm. She is not able to even lock or unlock the room with keys. She is NOT a diabetic. Can you please diagnose the cause and also suggest remedies including medication/ exercise. Thanks doctor.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history your wife is probably having vitamin b12 deficiency.
My treatment advice is -
1. Take good nutritious diet full of green leafy vegetables and milk.
2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on the lesions twice daily.
3. Take a vitamin b12 supplement once daily for 3 months.

If problem persists then consult a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
