What Can Cause A Nose Bleeding Caused From A Small Red Spot?
Hi, Today something strange happened. I touched my nose at work, and it was wet with blood which was by now all over my hands. Thinking I had a nose bleed, I wiped my nose with a paper towel and discovered that the source of the bleeding was actually from a small red spot on the side of my nostril, about the size of a pore. I applied pressure with a paper towel, but it continued to bleed a good bit for about 5 minutes before it stopped. Thoughts?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of bleeding from the pore by the side of the nose. This stopped by 5 minutes of pressure indicates that is the bleeding /clotting time you have. The small bleeding point is usually called as a granuloma. Could have appeared due to an old piercing or a pimple that had gone unnoticed. It is good that the bleeding has stopped and you may not need further treatment. Yet, it is better to consult a Doctor to get a confirmed diagnosis and probable treatment such a coldcauterization or so.
