What Can Cause A Small Hole In My Son S Ear?

I noticed what appeared to be a small hole in my sons ear a few months ago. Recently it looked like a pimple so I gently ran a fingernail over it and goo came out. Now it is back too looking like a small pin hole. Of course I ve looked online and all I can find is an ear pit . While it does LOOK like an ear pit, I am understanding that an ear pit only occurs at the top outer ear. Could this still be considered a possible ear pit or something different?

Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
The ear pit which is your finding is basically called the sinus and needs to be excised as it is if you want a permanent relief.
IT is better to get this removed before the infection settles in as the dissecting it off the surrounding tissue will be easy.
