What Can Cause Clotted Bleeding During Periods?

Me and my boyfriend decided to have un protected sex in the middle of June and in may my period came on the 24 but it didnt come again til the 1st of July. And so when it did come at first, it came out clotty and something long, bloody and stringy came out that didnt sink to the bottom like the rest of the blood had. My period has been extra light and its the third day of it and I am hardly bleeding at all, and when it does come out its just clots! This has never really happened before and I dont know what to think!

Hello dear,I understand your concern.In my opinion the delayed period with irregular bleeding might be evaluated.I suggest you to do a urine pregnancy test.If it is positive or weakly positive then you might need to consult gynaecologist as ultrasound might be needed.But if the test is negative then you need not worry.It might be simple hormonal imbalance due to stress or anything.Dont worry.Relax.
