What Can Cause Delay In Periods?

Ok so I am 18 days late on my period and my last period was on January 4th i have taken 2 hpt and both came back negitive I have had cramping and I spotted on the 4th of this month and i was just wondering what could be wrong and what i should do also i dont have the money to go to a dr. and i dont have insurance
