Hello Doctor,Can you tell me the possible reasons of missed periods? I have already missed one cycle and will soon miss the second one as well. It had come in the month of June. After that I have not even involved myself in any sexual activity. Is it abnormal? I am not getting any unusual symptoms also. Please help.
Hello dear Understand your concern You did not mention your age in questions. The may be perimenopausal state in which period may be delayed. As you are not sexual active, pregnancy is completely excluded. Following are the other causes of delayed period: Hormonal imbalance/dysfunctional uterine bleeding. Thyroid disorder High prolactin Ovarian cyst/PCOS, endometriosis/fibroid, excessive stress and cahnge in dietary habit. I advice you to consult the gynecologist and go for following investigations: Reproductive and thyroid hormone analysis, USG scan and ovarian follicle study, endometrial biopsy. Doctor can give medroxyprogesterone acetate/progesterone to induce the bleeding in hormonal imbalance. Avoid stress, take healthy diet with fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables. Do regular exercise 45-60 minutes i the morning. Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. SAGAR
