Hello, I missed by last period and am due for a period this week. I took 3 pregnancy tests all negative. My doctor had labs drawn but he hasn t called with results. I m fatigued, pelvic cramps, and bad lower back pain. Could I be pregnant or is there anything else this may be? I ve also been nauseous and not a huge appetite but continue to gain weight. Can you please assist? Thanks!
Hello dear Understand your concern Pregnancy should be confirmed by Blood HCG so wait for report as it is accurate than pregnancy test. If you took pregnancy test before 7 days of delayed period, then high chance of false negative. Chance of pregnancy is high if you had sex in the fertile period of your cycle.
Other cause of delayed period in absence of pregnancy are: Thyroid dysfunction, ovarian cyst/PCOS, excessive stress, endometriosis, fibroid etc. Pelvic cramp, fatigue and back pain may be due to ectopic pregnancy or premenstrual symptoms. So I advice you to go for USG scan to rule out the other causes if blood test will give inconclusive report. Contact HCM again for further problem
Hope this may help you Best regard Dr. Sagar
