What Can Cause Dent On One Side Of Head?

Hi, I recently found a dent in the side of my head that used to not be there. I know it wasn't there because I can clearly feel it when I wash my hair now. I noticed it more because I got short sharp pains in that area for a bit last night. I have not been it on the head since I was little so I was wondering what the reason was for it.
