What Can Cause Feeling Nauseated During Periods?

Hi, my period this month is way lighter than usual and even a darker color, I had cramping the first day, but very slight normally my cramps are horrible. Today s the second day and I m feeling really nauseated . Is it normal for a period to change, and to feel nauseated?
