What Can Cause Irregular Periods?

im 32yrs. got no child. but married for 8months. im not using any contraceptive. my periods have a problem of missing for several months. then doc prescribed lactodeal. after using they came back for two months then its the third month and not yet gotten them. what could be my problem.
