What Can Cause Painful Bump Inside Knee?

i am 20 years old. i ran track in high school but i dont know. i do walk a lot basically everywhere and all of sudden i feel this bump on the inside of my skin on the top of my knee. it's starting to hurt a little when i feel it but not really when i walk. can you tell me what i can do?
