What Can Cause Smoking Soon After Tonsillectomy?
How soon after a tonsillectomy can you start smoking again? I will be 17 years old on the 23rd. Today is the14th. I had my tonsillectomy on the 10th. I can eat and drink most things already and the only pain I have is in my ears and when I yawn. I want to be able to go out and have a good time with my husband on my birthday, who also smokes. that s 13 days, from the day of surgery. Can I smoke on my birthday? (I do not want to quite. I enjoy smoking. And I will quite smoking one day, I just don t want to quite yet.)

Welcome to healthcare magic! It is not advisable on 13th day after tonsillectomy. It takes 3 weeks to recover soft tissue injury. So it will affect recovery.In long run it ias advisable to quit smoking because it has many detrimental health effects which you must be already aware about.
