Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Swelling may be due to hematoma at the site of cathetor insertion or it may be infection. Breathlessness may be due to contrast allergy or heart pumping insufficiency, etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your physician/cardiologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

It may be due to:
1. Hematoma of catheterization site.
2. Pseudoaneurysm formation.
3. Local abscess.
4. It may be secondary lymph node enlargement, etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your treating doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

General Surgeon Dr. Shinas Hussain's  Response
Hi,

The swelling may be a hematoma or a scar tissue. It will not cause shortness of breath. However, you can consult a cardiologist to evaluate breathlessness.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
