What Can Cause Swelling In Left Side Of Abdomen?

I took too many laxatives, after which, my left side is now larger than my right. The lower left abdomen is full but doesn't hurt - anymore that is. The upper left abdomen (under rib cage) has developed tenderness and is tight. Is this just my intestine? Or is this a spleen swelling?
