General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read your message and understood your medical problem.

I think you are experiencing a common cold right now. It is not something big to worry about but in your case, you must be very careful about your symptoms as you suffer from asthma.

If the symptoms of cold become severe they may trigger an asthma attack putting you in a high level of breathing discomfort.

My advice is that you must follow rigorously the treatment given for asthma and protect yourself from possible complications of cold. Keep your airways clean and re-use your bronchodilator drug if necessary.

Common OTC drugs for cold may be helpful, but keep in mind to read the drug paper inside the package before use. Consult with your doctor if any problems which seem serious will appear. You may need to increase the dosages of the asthma drugs during the cold symptoms.

It is important for patients who suffer from asthma to prevent getting a cold. The flu vaccine and a proper hygiene are important in this category of patient to prevent common colds. Stay away from closed and crowded enviroments and from people with cold symptoms.

Hope this is helpful for you.
Wish fast recovery.
