Smell of acetone in nose ie. I don t think it s present as much if I breath through my mouth though that maybe just my perception. Had it on and off since august. I ve regularly had strange smells in my nose. Was sent for MRI scan after smelling cigarette smoke smell. Negative for tumour. This feels different as the acetone smell is strong and can be smelt by my wife. I m 47. My job means I spend 12-18hours a day sitting down. For the last 5 years I ve worked from home and barely leAve the house. I m on statins for high cholesterol. My BP 10 mins ago was 147/81 and is regularly around those figures. My worry is diabetes or some other insulin/glucose issue. Being Christmas I can t see a Doctor now till the new year and I m worried about it getting worse. If it IS DKA or similar should I be avoiding sugars, sweets etc. ...
