Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had brain surgery in 2014. Had mengo however you spell it. It was a binien tumor as big as grapefruit. But before I had surgery i lost my sence of smell. So that means it effects my taste buds, my mood and not to mention a whole lot of other things? My nerologist couldn t tell me how to get it back. I want to smell perfume, Me and other things
I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your sense of smell.
As you had surgery more than three years back that means you have lost your sense of smell around four years back.
As you know any unwanted mass in brain can create pressure which in turn damage the surrounding brain tissue (in your case the are related to sense of smell). Most of the nervous tissue regains it's property within six month to year.
Unfortunately I don't think you will gain your sense of smell, may be some miracle but clinically it is not possible if there is no another reason associated.
Hope you will understand my point of view, write us back in case you need further assistance.
Regards Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
