Hello, Thank you for your time. The other day the fire alarm detector went on, was very loud, it took me about 20-25 seconds to close it however the next day my ears we re hurting... after a few days I still have some ringing on an on when im axious, stressed, Was wondering 1) if this did any damage to my ears or it takes time to recover 2) anything i can do to accelerate the recovery
Hi there, Thanks for using HCM. The ringing in the ears is called tinnitus. Tinnitus and pain in the ear after hearing a loud sound could be due to noise trauma. Loud sound causing noise trauma damages the delicate cells of the inner ear. This may sometimes be irreversible. But in milder cases it will recover in a few days time. You cannot do anything to accelerate the recovery. But I would advise you to consult your ENT doctor for an ear examination especially the inner ear. You may need tests like audiometry to assess the injury.
