What Caues Soreness In Chest When Suffering From Hypertension?

My boss, who has high blood pressure and cholesterol, has been experiencing what he describes as soreness in high chest (toward the left side). It has been steady for about 2 days now. Prior to this, he had fatigue, insomnia, on and off mild tingling in his left arm and said for two nights (beginning 4 nights ago) he woke up in a cold sweat. I m concerned that he might be leading up to a heart attack. His appointment with his doctor is next week. Is this too long to wait?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

With a history of hypertension and high cholesterol, he should have his chest pain assessed as soon as possible.
It is possible that the pain may be related to the heart though there are other causes that would be considered if this is ruled out.

He would need an ECG to check the rate , rhythm of the heart and any areas of decreased blood supply.
Blood tests would also be needed.
His blood pressure would need to be assessed and controlled if needed.

I hope this helps
