What Caueses Tingling Sensation In The Hands And Feet While On Hypertension Medication?

Yes I recently was put on highbloodpressure medicine and I have been taking my medicine as prescribed. Today I checked my pressure and it was lower than when I started the medication but still high. I feel some tingling in my hands and feet can that be caused by high blood pressure?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Well, these are signs of certain neuropathic issues and this is most commonly seen in some metabolic disorders such as diabetes, of the most common causes of peripheral neuropathy, accounting for about 30% of cases. In diabetic neuropathy, tingling and other symptoms often first develop in both feet and go up the legs, followed by tingling and other symptoms that affect both hands and go up the arms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
