What Cause A Dull Ache In My Neck, Chin And Ear?

I have for a few weeks had an ache in my neck and goes from under the chin and runs down my neck under my ear. Sometimes it feels like its tightening up and a dull ache appears. This can last normally for a few minutes and goes away and the may appear a few hours later. Seems worse in the evening. Been to GP said it is not throat cancer as not affecting my voice or coughing up blood not to worry about it and if the aches are still happening within a few weeks I am to go back. Please help I am worried
