What Cause Appetite Loss And Stomach Ache In A Child?

Hi, My daughter is 5 years old. She is not showing appetite for the past 3-4 days, and she is telling that her stomach is paining at least once a day. 10 days back, she was having stomach pain and fever and doctor prescribed Cyclopam Suspension for 2 days (5ml each two times a day) along with Paracetamol syrup. She was recovered in 2 days. Is Cyclopam suspension a good medicine for her to be given now, without consulting doctor again? Is Cyclopam an antibiotic? Regards, Raghi

Thanks for writing to us.
Cyclomine is not an antibiotic. Its is a pain killer.It works by relaxing the muscles in stomach. It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms). Hence it helps in relieving cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort.

I think she due to medicines her stomach has become bit acidic which is the point of concern. The pain she is experiencing is de to acidity.

I would suggest you to give her Lanzoprazole junior Empty stomach. It is a chewable medicine. You can give her for 4-5 days.
However also check with her pediatrician.
