About a month ago, I had a viral throat infection, which lasted about a week. My tongue began to have a burning sensation a few days later and \i still have it. My doctor gave me a fungal mouth rinse and it didn t help. Any idea what might be causing it.
I understand your concern and as you have said about your symptoms it appears that you are having post viral glossitis. this is quite common in viral fevers due to involvement of oral cavity and oropharynx in infection. most of the time it is self limiting and resolves by itself.

What Cause Burning Sensation In My Tongue?
Hello Welcome in HCM. I understand your concern and as you have said about your symptoms it appears that you are having post viral glossitis. this is quite common in viral fevers due to involvement of oral cavity and oropharynx in infection. most of the time it is self limiting and resolves by itself. For early recovery you may take- 1- Antiseptic mouth wash. 2- Antacid with PPI. 3- Vitamins (B-complex & methicabolamine) 4- Local application of oral solution having antibiotic, anti fungal and steroids. Probably above will solve your problem. Tanks for consulting HCM.
