General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

From your description, I am of the opinion that systemic antibiotics are not having much effect on your child.

Grommet insertion in the ear is needed and then local antibiotics should be given in ear with the help of it.

On an additional note, amoxicillin does not cause any fever or ear pain as such.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
