What Cause Persistent Abdominal Pain In A Child?

My 11 year old son is complaining of pain on his left side of his abdomen, the skin was a little red at 430 pm applied cortisone cream and it went away. He s is still complaining of the pain and is now a little clammy to the touch, on his forhead. He s been complaining of this pain since 145pm. Ate dinner and showered as well as played a videogame. Abdomen not swollen or at least doesn t appear to be, doesn t have a cold. No nausea. Seems to be a slight discomfort but one that is bothering him. Has had regular bowel movements.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Pain in abdomen can occur due to numerous causes since abdomen consists of multiple organs.
The site and character of pain is necessary to determine the cause of pain.
If the pain is associated with eating, then probably it is due to disorders of gastrointestinal tract.
You have mentioned that the skin over left side of abdomen was slightly red.
Now, it is important to determine whether the pain is due to skin rash or due to some abdominal disorder.
A consultation with a physician with detailed clinical history is necessary to determine the cause of pain and thus plan management.

Thanks and take care
