What Cause Pink Colored Urination?

I had reddish pink urine today. No UTI symptoms whatsoever...the nurse where I work did a urine sample, said there was a very light tinge of blood and my white count was slightly elevated.... Yesterday I fasted all day and then came home and had a carrot, apple, cucumber, beet juice before going to church. When I came home today I had a red substance around my stool NOT IN my stool. I feel fine and have no health issues

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for asking. I understand your concern.
Beet root juice/carrot can give pink colour to urine &same substances were excreted thriugh your stools too.But the few red cells in urine &also raised white blood count (done by the nurse)do suggest urine infection...
so even if you do not have any uti infection symptoms... I would advise for a repeat urine test ..to exclude the infection.
Thanks.
