my mother has been in a care home now for 6 months she has alzheimer s has stopped talking and now doesn t recognise me anymore she doesn t remember anything and was given a zero cognitive score by her doctor 18months ago she is 85yrs old and was diagnosed by the same doctor with this disease in 2008 the care home manager says she has got markedly worse in the last few weeks what is her life expectancy likely to be

Alzheimer’s is a disease which results in progressive memory loss.

You can consult a neurologist and start treatment. Keep in mind that treatment can only delay the progression and does not cure the disease.
