Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am in pain management and do not get treated very well at hospitals. I was in a mva yesterday and am having issues with my knees, popping in my ankle and some tingling, and other normal symptoms from a mva that I m not concerned about. My Dr office suggested going to the ER but I really do not want to unless that s my last option. Is this something I should definitely have checked out or should I just wait??
If there is not significant amount of popping or tingling in ankles, you can wait for regular follow up consultation with your doc. The reasons can be of various issues as arthritis, over weight compression, fat pad enlargement or bursa development from chronic posture adaptations. Kindly follow basic guidelines at present: - Walk regularly - Avoid prolong dependency positions - Keep legs elevated over 3 pillows when resting - Keep blood cholesterol, sugar, body weight under control - Check for a level of vitamin B 12 in the blood
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
