Hi,

According to the history given by you, your friend's menstrual cycles are not appearing as normal. There could be hormonal or structural abnormalities. Regarding this, you can suggest her to consult a Gynecologist along with her mother. And she may need general and local examinations, investigations like ultrasound, thyroid profile, serum Estrogen, Progesterone, LH and FSH levels, serum prolactin levels estimation. With this workup the possible cause of her problem can be identified and treatment can be given accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri S. R., OBGYN
