My father age is 65 years. He takes tablet Amdocal,Avas, Ecosprin, Comet and Syndopa 110 mg. Taking Syndopa for last seven days. Before that he has taken perkinil and peridol tablets. But after stopping both of two he started to take Syndopa. But right now he told us that through the entire night he can t sleep as well as at the morning he is experiencing severe kind of vertigo. His sugar level is 6.3. And he has a shaky hand. He had a minor brain stroke last year. What I should do now? Shall I stop to give Syndopa(taken 1/2 of the tablet each night)? Doctor prescribed Rivortil a sleeping pill along with the Syndopa. But I gave Rivortil for just three days. As he told me that he has dizziness. What I should do now?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Syndopa may have troublesome side effects , including dizziness and syncope, so this may be because of the drug, in such circumstances what we do is to start with very low dose and increase it gradually.
However, other causes of this should be ruled out . So I would advise you should talk to your doctor, as he would check if thee is any other cause for the dizziness and if not he can manage the drug somehow by one way or other .Till that you can stop the drug if really troublesome .
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
