What Cause Short Term Memory Loss?

I have memory issues, a few examples, during drives, sometimes In the middle of my commute I ll forget the last 10 minutes of driving and have no idea how I got to that point safely, another example, I sent my girlfriend a picture yesterday and just resent it 10 minutes ago and she had to inform me that I already sent it, I have no recollection of sending it
