Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain severe pain in knees along with a medical history of Arthritis and diabetes..
Well, the pain can be due to Arthritis itself as well as there can be other causes like Meniscus tear/ligament tear, tendonitis, bursitis, hemorrhage in the joints, gout etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Orthopedician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray, MRI SCAN, bood tests etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
You can be advised to take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen, muscle relaxants like Chlorzoxasone, physiotherapy under trained physiotherapist, stretching exercises, weight loss if you are obese, application of analgesic ointment and placing a knee brace can relieve..
You can also be advised warm or cool compresses depending upon diagnosis and steroid injections..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
