Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Hi,

thank you for providing the brief history of your husband.

A thorough cardiothoracic and musculoskeletal assessment is advised.

Also, as there is a coronary artery bypass grafting is done, he needs to undergo a proper cardiopulmonary rehabilitation under the physical therapist, as by performing this, the muscles supporting the respiratory system needs to get a retraining . The research supports the cardiothoracic rehabilitation for upto 12-24 weeks based on the progress of the patients condition.

This is the commonest feature most patient face post CABG due to lack of physical therapy post surgery, as the graft has to balance the hemodynamics and also the respiratory requirements.

In my personal practice, i recommend my patients to undergo the complete cardiopulmonary rehabilitation to get the maximum benefits.
