What Caused My Blackout When In Kneeling Position?

The other day I was in the bathroom with my friend while she was curling my hair and i was kneeling on the floor the whole time. All of a sudden my hearing was fuzzy, I started sweating and I collapsed back against the tub. I'm only 18 years old so I'm not sure where this was coming from.... Is this serious? What happened?
