What Caused Pain In Ears While Cleaning Wax?

hi, I am male, 44yrs old, tried to clean the earwax of my ears today, which I regularly do, but this time it was painful and one of the ears is still not cleaned. The wax is still there and the ear hurts when I hic up. my doctor said that he didn't notice any signs of an ear infection when he checked my ears before he flushed the wax out. what do you suggest me to do, maybe put garlick in my ear overnight anyway?

wax might be impacted so causing pain. Use wax softening ear drops like waxed for few days and than get the ears cleaned. Take tablet paracetamol for pain relief.
