What Causes 3 Weeks Long Period Along With Blood Clots?

I am 35 yrs old, hemo dialysis patient, and I have had my period for 3 straight weeks, so far. It has been some what normal, with a couple days of heavy flows. Most days there have been some clots that come out. I ve been on dialysis for nearly 15 yrs and my period was never normal. I would get my period every couple months. Now it s been 3 weeks of blood and clots, I don t know what to do? Why would it last this long?? Please help

Understand your concern
3 week long period along with blood clot is not normal.
Following are the causes of prolonged bleeding:
1. Platelet dysfunction due to uremia: Uremia in your case may affect platlet-paltlet and platlet-vessel adhesion resulting abnormal bleeding and prolong menstruation. I advice you to do following test: CBC, BT, CT, APTT.
Should be improved by platlet rich plasma and whole platlet.
Tranexamic acid also reduce the amount of bleeding.
2. Endometrial dysplasia and cancer: should be diagnosed by endometrial biopsy and UDG scan. Specific treatment like D & C and endometrial ablation is required depending upon severity and stage of disease.
3. cervical dysplasia and cancer: should be diagnosed By PAP smear.
4. Hormonal imbalance cause dysfunctional uterine bleeding: should be diagnosed by reproductive hormone analysis and treated by progesterone preparation like regosterone and provera
