What Causes Alice In Wonderland Symptoms With Fever?

My 9 year old son has experienced alice in wonderland symptoms one time during a fever but since then he has experienced 3 times the fast forward sensation only in his hearing - I am wondering if this can have to do with migraines, my husband and I both suffer from them, or mono possibly or could this be a type of seizure?
