Diabetologist 's  Response
Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

Yes, Lipitor, or the medicine for cholesterol, is known to cause the liver dysfunction in many people. This liver enzymes -ALT, AST GGT and ALP show the affects. The levels of liver enzymes are raised by many medicines. And this is just one group that does so.

I would suggest that now that you have stopped the medicine, have the test repeated in 2 weeks to make sure that the test is normal. If it is still deranged, we will have to think of other causes as well.

And finally, I would like to know why the test was done in the first place.

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above so i can be of help further. Best of luck.

I have given you the answer to the maximum considering the information provided. The results of the tests could further enhance my answer to you.
