I am taking amlodipine 5 mg,atenolol 25 mg,pravstatin 25 mg,and metformin 500 mg.my rdw is 15.3.,.3 above normal .Could my medications be causing this?also I seem to be getting different manufacturers of my meds which are generic,.Could this also be a cause of slightly elevated RDW?

Hello and welcome to HCM, RDW stands for red cell distribution width. RDW is not related to drugs. Increased RDW is caused by variation of sizes of red blood cells. Anemias are common cause of increased RDW. Other parameters- hemoglobin, red cell indices like MCV, MCH and MCHC and peripheral blood smear examination are required to evaluate RDW and comment on cause of increased RDW.
