What Causes STD?

Me and my boyfriend have been together three years now I have been nothing but faithful to him. I got a std test recently and mine came positive then I told him that he needs to get tested and said that his came back negative. How is it possible that he has nothing and I did?

Dear Girlfriend,

Your boyfriend could have had an STD and they do not show on prior tests because they are dormant in his body. However, it matters which STD you have, because they are very different from each other. I would suggest personally, to ask your boyfriend to give you a hard copy of the results. Make sure he is really negative and that its the truth.
