What Causes UTI Symptoms While Test Result Were Negative?
I have constant urinary tract infections. The last few times I went they said the test came out negative but it was the exact symptoms I had before pain during urination n having to go like every five min. After I took some medicine for it it went away like a uti would only to have the same problem one to two months later. I don t have a regular doctor in always end up at a prompt care so I can t get monitored that this is happening more often than usual what should I do. What do I have if it s not a uti but am pretty sure that s what it is.

The reason for persistence of UTI after treatment & repeated recurrence can be due to:
1. Inadequate duration of treatment
2. Inappropriate dosage of the medications
3. Inappropriate selection of antibiotics against the causative organism.
4. Improper treatment of underlying cause of the UTI.
Under such circumstances, the following corrective measures should be taken:
1. Discuss regarding the adequate duration of treatment with your treating physician.
2. Discuss regarding the proper dosage of medications depending your age and body weight.
3. Culture & sensitivity of the urine to be done for selection of appropriate antibiotic.
4. Additional investigations like X ray KUB (Kidney Ureter & Bladder) and Ultrasound scan of abdomen & pelvis will be helpful in detecting any hidden focus of infection in the Genito urinary tract.
5.Take ciprofloxacin 500mg twice daily for 5-7days. OR take anyother antibiotic according to the culture sensitivity result.
6.Take urine alkylizers like cranmax sachet twice daily in 1 glass water.
7.Most of the time unhygienic conditions like public washrooms can b the leading cause of recurrent UTI ,therefore avoid such conditions.
