General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Swelling is the normal response seen after trauma so it is not unusual for a bump to form after trauma has occurred.

Scar tissue can form and the lump may become firmer.

It can sometimes take weeks to months for resolution to occur.

The use of anti inflammatory pain medications such as ibuprofen, cataflam or naproxen may help.

I hope this helps
