What Causes A Big Lump Over The Foot Tendon?

Hello, I had an infection in my foot that was likely cellulitis or something similar. I now have some localized swelling like a big lump right over my tendon. It is hard and is sometimes reduced with heat but comes back. It is causing some pain when things press on it and I have some pain in my joint with bringing my foot up and out especially. Do you think this is a result of the infection or a problem with my tendon?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a ganglion cyst. Nothing much to worry as it is a harmless and easily curable condition. Consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated. You can opt for either aspiration or excision of the lesion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
