Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes A Black Dot After Stepping On A Sticker Bug?
My wife stepped on a "sticker bug" and a black dot formed at the spot. it has grown to a black area under her entire Big toe, and continues to grow (seemingly) even though the doctors say it is healing. it is kind~of eating away at her skin, but the doctors say its healing...any help???
I appreciate to have a pohoto of the dark spot on your wife's toe for a more accurate answer.
Meanwhile, I can say that the black spot is hematoma caused during the trauma. If the trauma occurred within a couple of days, keep applying cold compresses.
If trauma occurred more than 2 days, then, can apply heparin cream to dissolve blood clots. Applying blended onion with coarse salt can also help.
Do not forget to follow her doctor's advice and keep following up with him/her. Wish fast recovery! Dr.Albana
