What Causes A Black Spot At The Corner Of The Eye?

I am 20, 185 lbs., and don't have a history of black eyes, but I was doing judo and noticed at the corner of my eye (not on the eyeball, but just at the corner of the socket above cheekbones on the right side) a large, almost black spot. I assumed it was either a blood blister or the beginnings of a black eye. I iced it, but now this morning it has spread to the bottom eyelid and a bit on the upper eyelid. And on the other eye in the same spot, but the left side, is a noticeable red patch, which I just assumed was from rubbing it. There is more than the average amount of sleep in my eyes as well. Those are my only symptoms though.

General & Family Physician Dr. Ashwini Mahajan's  Response
A small trauma can be the cause. Black eye(ecchymosis) normally resolves by its own though it may take 2-3 weeks.
