What Causes A Boil At The Base Of The Penile Shaft?
hey doc i have a boil on my penile shaft, towards the base. it started 5 days ago when even touching would hurt, but now it has become soft and the top has become white. what should i do? should i pop it with a needle? and one more thing, can i play squash while the boil is there?
Hello dear I understand your concern Boil is most common by the bacterial infection of the hair follicle.(staphylococcus infection). Examination by the general physician will help in the management. First you have to apply bacitracin ointment and warm pad application. Once it become soft, it will be drained by applying pressure. Take tablet amoxiclav to prevent the spread of the infection. Wear pure cotton loose inner and avoid sweats in the affected area. You can play squash if you have no pain while playing. If during play, it will hurt then you should avoid till the infections resolves. Hope this may help you
