What Causes A Boil On The Labia After Intercourse?

I am 57 yrs old and have had nothing like this before. But I have a ruptured boil and one developing on each side of my labia. I did have sex w someone a couple times a couple weeks ago. The one boil if that is what it is seems to be going down. What should I do? Confused on methods of treatment.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I share your concern.
Looking at your description it seems to be treatable condition so you need not to worry about it.

Boil after 2 weeks of intercourse might be related to Infectionost likely Sexually transmitted infection or inflammation of the urogenital tract.

You may require a course of antibiotics under medical supervision.

I would advise you for battery of investigation like urine culture, vaginal swab culture or blood tests like CBC, Liver function test and blood sugar.

Meanwhile you should take lots of fluids orally which will help by flushing off the urogenital tract.
Maintain good hygiene.

Hope this answers your question please feel free to ask for follow up question I will be happy to help you.
Best wishes
