Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
In the last couple of weeks I developed what I thought was a boil on my upper thigh. It hasn t gotten so big that I m having trouble walking and sitting. Today, I am experiencing vision problems. I am seeing black spots from my right eye. Is this related? I recently lost medical coverage so I haven t seen a doctor.
Boil in the upper thigh commonly occurs due to infection in the hair follicle or the oil gland. Keep your skin clean & maintain hygiene. Diabetes, poor nutrition, lack of exercise, poor hygiene can also cause boils.
If diabetic, maintain your sugar levels at all cost to avoid boils & carbuncles in the body. Diabetic Retinopathy can damage the blood vessels of the retina causing black spots or floaters in your vision.
You are suggested to visit a GP, get tested for your blood sugar levels & treated for it at the earliest.
Your GP will refer you to an Ophthalmologist, get physically examined & treated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
