What Causes A Bowel Movement With A Chunk Of Tissue?
Hi...I am 53 year old white female. for the past 24 hours I noticed when I have a bowel movement there appears to be a good size chunk of tissue that protrudes from my rectum. When I stop pu shing it goes back inside. I also feel the need to push. There is mucus discharge with tinges of blood. It is not painful but feels like my insides are coming out.
Noted your history of something coming out of anus on passing stool, there is mucus and straining too This is called rectal prolapse if the mass encircles the whole circumference. If only a part of it is coming out then these may be prolapsed piles or polyp. This can be diagnosed well by the following ways: Consult a General Surgeon for clinical evaluation, an actual examination and any investigations to know the diagnosis. Colonoscopy should be done in every case. Once the diagnosis is done then the surgery will be as per the cause found and the findings of other investigations. Take care. Do not strain at stool.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
